Objective of the Fund
Established by Alf. Mizzi & Sons Ltd in 2004, The Alfred Mizzi Foundation’s overall objective is the promotion, diffusion, and safeguarding of the Maltese culture, its heritage, education, the environment and social solidarity by:
• Promoting and assisting the presentation and development and the public manifestation of Maltese heritage including culture and the environment.
• Encouraging research projects and assisting in the publication of studies undertaken by any duly qualified persons, regarding Maltese culture, heritage and history.
• Providing assistance to talented Maltese to enable them to obtain educational advancement and higher professional standards.
• Providing assistance towards just causes and/or religious bodies requiring social solidarity.

All decisions regarding allocation of funds made by the Foundation shall be final.
Applicants are encouraged to send a proposal of their initiative or project, together with their full name, surname, address, contact information and VO/NGO registration number (if applicable) to info@thealfredmizzifoundation.com. The proposal should include:
- A brief description of the project
- The relevant timeframes
- the amount requested, with a rough breakdown of costs.
Eligibility and Exclusions
- The Alfred Mizzi Foundation supports projects and initiatives proposed by individuals, Non-Governmental Organisations or Voluntary Organisations that are registered in accordance with the Voluntary Organisations Act, Chapter 492 of the Laws of Malta and any body corporate set up by any other Act including Clubs and Limited Liability Companies, civic, cultural, educational and religious organisations and also specific groups/Boards set up for the purpose of organising the project or initiative in respect of which funding is requested.
- The Alfred Mizzi Foundation shall consider proposals which fall under its overall objectives, i.e., supporting social solidarity initiatives, safeguarding the environment, and preserving Maltese heritage and culture.
- The Alfred Mizzi Foundation will only consider requests from locally based entities or for projects to be carried out locally.
- The Alfred Mizzi Foundation will not consider requests for funding submitted by any political parties or politically committed entities.
- The Alfred Mizzi Foundation will not consider requests from entities it considers to be discriminatory against any race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or gender.

Selection and Award of Funding
The Board of Administrators of The Alfred Mizzi Foundation review all proposals submitted and award funding based on a number of criteria, as defined above.
All decisions regarding allocation of funds made by the Foundation shall be final.
If the terms under which the funding was granted are not adhered to, The Foundation reserves the right to claim back the contributed funding.
